New Objective, Inc., a Woburn MA based manufacturer of micro-scale sample preparation and delivery tools for the dynamic life science fields of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, seeks qualified candidates in the following field(s):

Applications Chemist / Customer Solutions

Participate in a motivated, focused team environment comprised of research, production, and business development personnel to improve products and production methods for liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. With our customer base rapidly expanding, we are in need of an energetic scientist, chemist or biologist to assist with pre- and post-sales support as well as work in our mass spec lab. With direct feedback from our customers, this position will work with quality assurance, sales, research & development, and engineering departments to fuel the evolution of our innovative line of products for nano-scale LC-MS.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate would be involved in a team environment with responsibilities to include: pre- and post-sale customer technical support, product demonstrations, publication support, training and sales/marketing support, design, setup and analysis of nano-ESI experiments for R&D and QC, and providing feedback for quality assurance of our chromatography and nanospray product lines. Some overnight travel is required.

Education and Experience
Requires minimum of a BA/BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related field with LC/MS or GC/MS. Ph.D. or other advanced degree is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a necessity. The ideal candidate would have experience in the bio-analytical applications of MS, including experience with nano-scale LC/MS. Experience with proteomics analysis by MS, and LC/MS would be highly beneficial. 2+ Years of direct job experience or experience in a related field is preferred, but not required.

This is a full-time position. Salary commensurate with skills and experience.

Post-Doctoral Position Available

To further our research and development efforts in the fundamentals of electrospray ionization and nanospray technology development, we are expanding our R&D team and are in search of a motivated post-doc to fill this post. Candidates should have expertise in mass spectrometry, particularly in electrospray ionization. Candidates with additional experience in instrumentation development, fabrication, or micro-fluidics are preferred.

Responsibilities
This position will report directly to the president of the company. Responsibilities of this position include conducting independent research, authoring technical publications, writing grant proposals to external funding agencies, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and working together with a team of dedicated scientists and engineers. Additional resposibilities as required.

Education and Experience
Candidates will have a Ph.D. (or have submitted a thesis prior to taking up the appointment) in Analytical Chemistry, Applied Physics, or a related field, with experience in mass spectrometry and chromatography. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and work collaboratively with others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

This is a full-time, 1-2 year appointment.
