How does PicoClear™ Technology work?
Traditional fittings utilize frusto-conical
compression to secure tubing
ends. Though effective, attention to technique is required to create
a clean, secure connection without cracking and creating fused-silica
particulates that eventually end up creating a clog downstream
in your emitter.
Here is how PicoClear™ fittings work:

No sleeves are required for connection
Above
Tubing is inserted into either end of the sleeve-free union,
through the loosened primary and secondary nuts and into the
elastomer core. Because
the union is clear, excellent contact is confirmed by visual
inspection.
Below
Once the tubing is inserted, tighten the primary nuts first.
As the nuts push against and begin to compress the core, the
core expands to firmly contact and hold the fused-silica tubing
in place.

Elastomer core turns axial compression into pure radial
compression
Utilizing PicoClear unions in place of traditional fittings helps
reduce the likelihood of clogging emitters and enables
easy troubleshooting at other connection points. Combining
IntegraFrit™ columns as inline filters is
a fast and easy way to further clean up your sample and screen for
contaminants.
